Heavy Eyes

====================================================

Summary: Some strange person has been staring at her ever since. They had their first contact with each other in the library. Now, will she be able to take the tense inside her?

I twitch in a second when I felt chills flowing through my veins. I felt something weird surrounding me which drawn my attention.

I was shocked when someone tapped my shoulder. It was my friend, Nelly. Thanks to her, I felt relieved.

When we got to the canteen, I felt again those chills inside me. My eyes roam around the four corners of the room.

We fall in line with the others. I can feel my hands shaking even though I don’t know the reason.

After we got our lunch, we went and took a sit on one table. I felt another chill which cause me to stop. I scan the area again but nothing suspicious. Nelly asked what’s wrong but I answered nothing. I came to think that I was paranoid.

We talk a little while then Nelly came with the topic that our classmate, Richard, has been staring at me. I don’t want to believe it. No, anyone but not Richard.

Nelly told me that Richard is one of the rich kids at the campus. But I can notice that he’s different from the other rich kids since he dress-up just average and hangs out with average kids at school. He never talks about himself or about his family’s wealth.

Nelly showed me a video which destroyed my doubt. It’s true; he has been staring at me, but why?

I look at him, but his eyes are not even an inch on me. I faced Nelly with an eyebrow raised. She showed me several videos that showed me more takings of him, staring at me.

I tried asking where she got those from but she refused to answer.

I pack up my things and headed to the library to finish a book report. Nelly tailed me there with her camera, showing me that Richard and the others are still following us.

I couldn’t concentrate on what I’m doing anymore. I can still get those chills. I was thinking that he’s still staring at me.

It took me time that Nelly had already finished her report and I have to stay behind to finish mine. I tried peaking at them, Richard and his friends, but he’s also alone which made me tenser.

My mind got tangled when someone tapped my shoulder. I closed my eyes and prevented myself from seeing the person behind me. I only felt him move from behind and sit in front of me. I can hear the sound of the books colliding with the table.

He tried talking to me and I tried preventing my mouth from moving. He might think I’m mute, but he has to go, now!

“I don’t want to let myself to be mistaken as someone who is crazy with no one to talk to…” he said. His words are full of respect, expected from a rich kid.

I didn’t answer; I want him out of my sight. But I can still feel his heavy eyes on me.

“Look at me, please…” he asked in a soft voice. Soft enough to make me twitch. “It’s OK if you don’t want to talk to me, at least, face me.”

I couldn’t avoid it. My head obeyed his words, they moved on their own. Our eyes met in a second. His stare is heavy for me to understand.

I felt his hands tap my head like I’m some kind of a kid.

“My request is for you to look at me, not to stare at me. But I only noticed that you really look cute in close-up.”

I was shocked, I gasped, and I felt my face getting hot. So I packed up my things and tried to go home hurriedly, but before I could step outside of the library, he held onto my hand.

“Please, I’m in a hurry…” I said with collapsing voice.

“Finally, you talked…”

I faced him once more with curiosity. His grip lessens when I fully faced him.

He slowly kneel down before me, get my right hand and give it a kiss. I blushed into more shades of red. He gave me again those heavy eyes.

“Will you go out with me, Lea?” I was more shocked with his words.

I couldn’t speak but good thing he let me go even though he didn’t got an answer. But everything, from that day, changed.

He has been with me ever since. He also introduced me to his friends and still give me the same heavy look. But I got used to it day by day. The same strange, heavy looking eyes who have been staring at me all this time, with love and care.

One time, I told him I love him too and we have been together more from that time. Yes, always. And he would only look at me with heavy eyes, which he would only stare at one girl.
