====================================================

It was already late. I can already feel my hunger. But I have to finish arranging everything before leaving the library. I’m in charge of closing the library until no students are present. But today, I’m here until 7 in the evening. I doubled my speed in doing the work.

I went back to the counter to check the books present and the ones that has been taken out of the library. I just stopped when I heard my stomach grumble.

I turned red right after hearing the sound. But I’m surprised when something delicious was plotted on the table near the counter.

My eyebrows crossed when I saw a guy in front of me smiling. The guy chuckled as he saw the curiosity on my face.

“C’mon and take a break or you’ll faint.” He said jokingly.

He’s Dail, my friend ever since I started high school. He’s kind but sometimes he over do things which irritates me. But you can never deny the fact that he’s fun to be with, very friendly and kind to others too.

“What? Staring them won’t make them move and come to your mouth.”

Yeah, he’s irritating. I reach for the food that was in my front but it disappeared from my sight. And I noticed that I was being feed by this person in front of me.

“OK, here. Open your mouth. I’ll feed you while you do your work.” He smiled.

I couldn’t say a word, now I don’t know how to respond. I only felt his hands pull my chin to open my mouth by force. Then the food was already inside of me.

“There. Isn’t it yummy?” he smiled again, his usual smile that made me nod.

Yup, I like him. No, I think I love him from that time he helped me with library duties. Just thinking about it makes my face hot.

After that, I snatched the food from him and finish it. We went home afterwards, like we would always do. But before we could even get out of the school campus, a bunch of girls blocked our way.

I just can’t believe that these girls would actually stay at school this late at night just to see their crush. Right, they like Dail. Like hell it’s not really obvious. I usually feel my eardrum breaking whenever they squeal. I hate to admit it, I do feel jealous when they are near him.

I went ahead because I think he’s taking a little long. But he caught up with me just by the minute.

“Why didn’t you wait for me?” he asked after he get hold of my hand and stopped me from walking.

“It seems you’re too busy to disturb, so I decided to go on ahead and also, I’m hungry.” Yes, there was irritation on my voice, and I know he knows it too.

“Wait, are you jealous?” he smiled and let me see again that irritating face.

I started walking but he pulled me back.

“C’mon, Riah, answer me, are you jealous?”

Yes, I couldn’t speak. In reality, I don’t really know what to say. Now, I can feel my heart accelerating. I bowed my head to hide my red face. Even though it’s really much obvious to him.

“I’m jealous. So what about it?” I said in a cracked voice and low.

He laughed. I flushed just hearing his loud laughter. The second I know is that he’s already holding me face. I fought back, just to avoid from seeing his face.

“What? Now, you don’t want to look at me?”

I faced him with irritating look. But in another second, I felt his lips on mine. I didn’t go a chance to do something except from closing my eyes. I felt his arms around me and automatically, my hands move and wrap him with it, just to feel him.

The second we parted he smiled to me, his usual smile.

“I’m happy that you’re jealous, Riah.” He said and kissed my forehead.

With out holding it back, I smiled to him and continue going home.

The same happened as to tomorrow and to the following days. Except, there are no more girls chasing after him and he’s always been with me. He always kiss me on our doorstep to bid me good bye and good night every time he takes me home safe. Again, always wearing that irritating smile, his usual smile.
